Discussion at the dinner table between a teenage daughter and her mother.
Was that your brilliant plan to save the planet, spraying your art teacher with green paint.
For your information, my brilliant plan was not to save the planet but to erase white privilege and its patriarchal hold on society.
Well, for your age you showed a distinct lack of maturity and what kind of example does that set for the family.
After being held down so long by your father with his dominating ways and criticism of everything I tried to do, I’m revelling in my freedom.
That’s okay, mom, but I think you need a break from social media.

I think we all need a break from social media! heheh Very timely six, Len.

It sounds like the teenage daughter is the one in charge now.

a more ‘must you always, clark?‘ way of saying short, short, (really) short story*
*no, but for some of us a touch of an oubliette

Social media can be VILE, I think I absolutely need a break from it too…
Also, I imagined the art teacher getting sprayed with green paint and chuckled at the irony here… I don’t know if that was intentional or not…
a great six!

Thanks, Reelika, the green paint was intentional, and yes, social media can be very vile.

i so love teenage girls… the gift of expression is always admired from this revolution rebel… of course having boys is another story as well… love the glitter… sorry that i couldn’t get the sound to work…

The sound wasn’t meant to work. I have four teenage granddaughters and we’ve had many, many, discussions around the dinner table.

When I saw her painted face, the first that came to mind was “Gold Finger” and the woman in the opening scene who was painted gold. I hope that paint came off easily enough!

Unfortunately, the art teacher had to live with his new appearance for six weeks. But his students got used to it and were rather disappointed when it wore off.

Loved the twist in this story!
Imo, needing a break from social media is not relegated solely to young people, lol
Good to see you back at the Six, Len.

I wish more teens would use that last sentence! Too often parents set a poor example. Unsocial media, I call it.

Nice twist! Now I’m spending so much time with a granddaughter, it’s coming home to me again about what kind of example I want to set.

Grandchildren are always fun. My wife and I looked after my daughter’s five children from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for 13 years.
